The mission of the Health Ministry is to increase awareness of health issues that are prevalent in our congregation and promote a healthy lifestyle within our congregation and the community at large.
Glorify and lift the name of Jesus in all that we say and do because we are a faith-based ministry of the Church. Our objectives are to: Promote the wellness and health of the congregation by providing information and identifying resources for members (adults, teens, and children). Identify and solicit the resources necessary to carry out the activities of the Health Ministry. Provide healthy lifestyle educational materials. Work closely with the Culinary Committee to support and encourage the preparation of healthy foods for all gatherings the Church sponsors. Work closely with the grief ministry and those members in the congregation who work in the health care industry to raise awareness promote positive mental behavior.
The Ministry will observe Health Awareness Months, including Heart Health Month (February), National Nutrition Month (March), Stroke &High Blood Pressure Awareness (May), Breast Cancer Awareness (October). Diabetes Education (November).

Evangelism Ministry

Evangelism participates in outreach efforts that encourage individuals to turn from ungodliness and live lives that glorify God. Outreach opportunities include snack bag distribution to the homeless on Saturdays 9 am – 11 am and Sundays 11 am – 4 pm, Counseling Food Pantry Recipients Saturdays 9:30 am – 11:30 am, and Bible Study at the Brays Crossing Facility on Thursdays 7 pm – 8 pm. Rev. Dr. Bingham also serves as Co-Leader in the weekly Power For Life Prayer Meeting and Bible Study.

Drama Ministry

​Scripture Theme: John 1:5, The drama ministry has two major productions per year – based on African American History and Easter, or Christmas. Additional smaller productions include one in April – focusing on drug and alcohol awareness or mental health, and one in August with a family emphasis theme. Other plays are produced based on requests. Practices are held as needed to prepare for upcoming events. Age requirements are based on the actors needed in each play. Individuals interested in performing, production and staging are welcomed to join in.

Beautiful Vision Praise Dance Ministry is a place where women have the privilege to honor and serve God through liturgical dance. Our goal is to be a disciple through our ministry, where our expression of dance will gain as many lives as possible to be saved by our Father, Jesus Christ. We minister every third Sunday of the month, alternating the ministry groups. The adult group age requirement is 17 years old+ If ministering through expression of dance is your calling, we would love to have you!

Media Ministry

The media team’s responsibilities include ensuring the in-house worship service, as well as streaming media, provides the congregation with clear audio and video production which supports the vision of the Pastor and church leaders. This team confirms the necessary audio / visual equipment is in place to run smoothly throughout the worship experience. The team welcomes those with prior media experience, along with those who have the desire to learn and have a servant’s heart.

Pastor Thomas has served as Pastor of Congregational Care since 2019. His ministry has continued to exhibit the love of God through counseling and visitation to members needing support for health concerns, grief, crisis, weddings, and other life transitions. Pastor Thomas is also a Co-Leader of the weekly Power For Life Bible Study and Prayer Meeting.

Mission Statement –The Seasoned Saints Senior Ministry encompasses excellence in communion and benevolence to senior citizens and adults 60 years and older. The Seasoned Saints Ministry will actively embrace, equip, and elevate men and women within our congregation and community through the agency of ministry and the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Ministry Skills and Commitments– To support senior adults within our congregation and community with vigor and passion. To provide healthy activities, physical nurturing, spiritual growth, social awareness, and information about programs and services.

Ushers, Greeters, and the 1st Impression Ministry help the church to provide a welcoming, comfortable, and safe environment for guests attending worship services and special events. We serve weekly as the primary point of contact. Our duties and responsibilities are critical to ensure a pleasant worship experience for all in attendance. We prepare the sanctuary for service, manage traffic flow as guests enter and exit the sanctuary, provide programs, and assist guests with finding seats. If you wear a smile and have a call to serve, we would love to have you join us.

All women are welcome to join in our monthly bible study held at 11 am in the multipurpose building on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month. At in-person meetings, all women are invited to dress comfortably and casually.

College & Careers Ministry

Our ministry is dedicated to assisting students in developing their leadership, faith, and interpersonal relationships. We offer high school graduates college scholarships, college preparation awareness and information sessions, and college tours. BV CARES packages and a mentoring program is provided for Bella Vista college students. Our goal is to share, network, and support our “youth” as they navigate through and approach their post-secondary studies or careers.
